We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Online Reporter

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collect, verify, and thoroughly analyze news.
• Write and deliver news stories with the reader’s perspective in mind.
• Publish or broadcast news stories on all social media platforms.
• Receive assignments or investigate news leads/human angle stories.
• Abide by journalism’s ethics and codes.
• Conduct interviews with personalities.
• Record news items and arrange/work with cameramen for news/event coverage.
• Voice news or script for production.
• Cooperate with reporters, chief editor, producer, etc., on joint official assignments.
• Transcribe audio recording.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest current events in the “beat” by studying papers, attending events, etc.

Requirements and Skills

• Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree in Communications or related field with 3 – 4 years relevant work experience in a reputable media company.
• Proven working experience as a Reporter.
• Proficiency in English writing.
• Portfolio of published articles or newscasts.
• Ability to gather, write, and edit news.
• Broad knowledge of headline casting.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases).
• Ability to upload content.
• Excellent communication, lobbying, and active listening skills.
• Integrity and morality.
