Job Summary

• The IT Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving our organization’s IT infrastructure and ensuring the efficient and secure operation of all IT systems.
• This role involves providing technical support, managing network resources, and contributing to IT projects that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:

• Provide end-user support by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist employees with IT-related problems, including troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of software and hardware.

Network Management:

• Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, security, and connectivity to ensure optimal operation.

Software and Hardware Management:

• Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
• Maintain an inventory of hardware assets, perform hardware upgrades, and manage equipment procurement.

Cybersecurity:

• Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption.
• Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and regulations.

Data Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and maintain data backup and recovery strategies to protect critical business data.
• Perform routine backups and test data restoration processes.

User Training and Documentation:

• Train employees on IT best practices and use of IT resources.
• Create and update documentation, manuals, and guidelines for IT procedures and policies.

IT Projects:

• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments on IT projects, such as system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Assist in planning and executing technology initiatives that align with business goals.

Vendor Management:

• Liaise with external IT service providers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and manage service contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as an IT Specialist or in a similar IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and IT security.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Familiarity with IT management tools and software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are a plus.
