Job Title: Community Engagement Officer
Location: Katsina

Overall Job Purpose

  • Gender-based violence (GBV) is a serious human rights and public health issue affecting women and girls around the world.
  • It impacts all aspects of women and girl’s physical, emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It has harmful consequences for the individuals who experience it, their families, and their communities.
  • The Community Engagement Officer will be based in Katsina state and with support from the Director of Gender & Inclusion.
  • Heshe will work in coordination with the prevention and response teams to design strategies using EMAP and SASA Together! modules to prevent gender-based violence as well as take the lead in engaging community leaders, community-based structures and local partners through training and awareness-raising sessions that are geared towards GBV prevention and response.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • BA / B.Sc / HND in Health or any related field
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Must be a resident of Katsina state
  • Computer literacy skills, especially word processing and excel
  • Sensitive and caring but firm and decisive in managing staff.
  • Possesses the good nature and character to maneuver the changing environment
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Multi-tasking skills.
