We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Purpose

  • The Material Planning Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient planning, procurement, and availability of materials to meet production and operational requirements.
  • This role involves forecasting material needs, coordinating with suppliers, and optimizing inventory levels to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Material Planning & Forecasting:

  • Develop and maintain material requirement plans based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Analyze consumption patterns and adjust material planning strategies accordingly.

Supplier Coordination & Procurement Support:

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to delays, quality, or cost discrepancies.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of material orders, deliveries, and stock levels.

Inventory & Cost Management:

  • Track and control material costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in material planning and procurement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or procurement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in demand forecasting and supply chain analysis.
  • Proficiency in material planning software (e.g., SAP or similar tools).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
