Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

 

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Process Engineer to design, implement, and optimize industrial processes in our operations.
  • The ideal candidate will analyze workflows, identify areas for improvement, and apply engineering principles to enhance productivity, efficiency, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing or production processes.
  • Evaluate existing processes and identify improvements for efficiency, cost, and safety.
  • Prepare detailed process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and processes.
  • Analyze data and generate reports for management and technical teams.
  • Perform process simulations and calculations to support design decisions.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a process engineering role (industry-specific experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD, MATLAB).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PE license).
  • Experience in regulated oil & gas industries.
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems (e.g., DCS, PLC).
