Job Description
- As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm. This role requires strong leadership abilities, extensive agricultural knowledge, and a commitment to sustainable and efficient farming practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and processing crops/livestock management.
- Develop and implement efficient farming practices and strategies to maximize yield and profitability.
- Supervise and train farm staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Monitor crop/livestock health and manage pest/disease control measures.
- Ensure maintenance and proper operation of farm equipment and machinery.
- Manage farm budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, production data, and financial transactions.
- Develop and implement irrigation and soil management plans.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to farming operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and buyers to ensure smooth operations and sales.
- Stay updated with the latest agricultural trends, technologies, and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field (preferred).
- 1 – 10 years work experience.
